I first heard of toys that grow in water when I was planning a Dinosaur party for my 5-year old son. It sounded like a really interesting party bag filler.

There should be a set of instructions on the toy when you purchase it.

Most of these toys work the same way. This is how we grew our dinosaur!

1) Take the egg out of the package.
2) Get enough water for the egg. We put ours in a basin.
3) Wait and wait and wait.
Seriously it doesn't grow right away. So if you have an impatient child, this can be a bit of a problem.
4) After 24 hours, the dinosaur was noticeably bigger. We left it there for 2 more days and it grew to about 15 cm. I have heard of other people who have grown this to a much bigger size though. But I'm afraid our family is not big on being patient!

Remember that other toys that grow in water will need more time to get to its largest possible size. I heard of one family that grew a giant lizard for 5 days!
